Overview of the role

The principal role of the Mid-Weight Designer is to respond to creative briefs, creating quality designs that maintain the excellence and integrity of our client's communications. Working in collaboration with the wider creative team, you will be responsible for ensuring our creative work and service meets the needs and expectations of our clients.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating inspiring work and who has a genuine interest in telling our clients stories in a compelling way. You’ll need the ability to mix creative flair with commercial awareness while maintaining your head when things get busy, and a great personality to boot!


Your Key Responsibilities

Deliver great creative work

Create designs for your assigned client work and new business pitches. Collaborate and contribute to the thinking, design process and delivery of client communications. Combine creativity and strategic thinking to proactively challenge a brief, and to interpret business and communications objectives into original and relevant design solutions while working to ensure the integrity, accuracy and quality of work is maintained at all times.

Strengthen client relationships

To build strong client relationships with day to day client contacts, instilling their trust and confidence in your abilities to meet their needs. To be proactive in all client dealings, escalating any account problems efficiently while providing exemplary client services at all times. 

Be commercially aware

Manage project resources (time and budgets) to deliver jobs profitably, on time and to the desired quality. Be the champion of our internal work processes. Where required, make an active contribution to new business. 

Support your team

To work closely with the Creative Director and wider Creative team as well as the Account Management and Publishing teams to understand the creative strategy and delivery framework. Be proactive and helpful, ensuring the smooth running of all projects, exceeding client expectations.

Your qualifications, experience & skills

The ideal candidate will have the following profile of skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualification from an Art/Design college;
  • Ideally a minimum of three to five years’ experience in corporate communications, with proven editorial design experience;
  • Expert knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop;
  • Excellent knowledge of the print and production process;
  • A passion for digital experience design and digital channels is an advantage;
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills necessary to present your solutions and to build trust and respect both with clients and the team; and
  • Excellent eye for detail, ambitious for the quality of your work, and a constant search for excellence.
