We have an amazing opportunity for an ambitious, motivated and passionate leader to take on responsibility for the advisory services of Black Sun. in this role you will oversee the growth and delivery of our advisory strategy at a local level and drive forward our advisory services in the areas of  Investor, ESG and Sustainability  across the group and globally. You will be responsible for managing the interdependence between the four current advisory teams reporting into you within Black Sun to deliver the business’s KPIs and financial metrics.

Key to this role is driving forward the evolution of our Investor, ESG and Sustainability proposition, offer and services, by articulating and promoting it across the group with tangible and defined objectives and consistency of outlook.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in building and managing similar kinds of businesses, be an expert in advisory services, ESG, sustainability, communications and reporting markets, and possess a proven track record in successfully managing the development and delivery of effective communications strategies for clients, whilst leading and managing a team.

You will be responsible for overseeing client satisfaction, client retention and development, resource planning, team management and engagement, resourcing and financials.

Strategic Objectives

The Executive Director, Consultancy Services will play a decisive part in delivering the company’s strategic objectives working in co-operation with the other members of the executive team by: -

  • Contributing to the evaluation and development of the business strategy and performance needed to future proof the offer and secure long term sustainable profitable growth
  • Defining strategy, identifying, engaging and developing relationships with industry and influencers, including regulators, standard setters, investors and corporates, acting as Black Sun advocate and spokesperson
  • Planning, strategy, development of group global view, Identification of key partners to extend and strengthen offer, research and thought leadership opportunities, create and deliver a Black Sun driven events programme to deliver thought leadership
  • Creating an internal and external programme of activity and communications to share knowledge across the Group. This will include the training, development and commercialisation of our offer with internal audiences as well as ensuring that all external activity is integrated across all our client relationship development activities

Specifically for Advisory Services:

  • Deliver accelerated sustainable profitable growth in advisory services that enables us to exceed our annual and margin targets
  • Successfully help develop the four consultancy offers – reporting services, ESG strategy, sustainability strategy and sustainability communications and launch this integrated proposition internally and externally. Become recognised as market leaders in strategic advice around these offers to large international organisation
  • Transform our current relationship with clients from predominately a ‘project based’ service to a strategic partner responsible for developing and delivering advisory services that successfully align the communications of corporate strategy and performance with different stakeholder needs
  • To build the best in class ‘team’ able to deliver our offer and services and support the development and implementation of our long growth plans
  • Create secure robust and scalable infrastructure, work practices and processes to deliver operational excellence and efficiencies.


Measurement of Success

The success of the Executive Director of Consulting will be measured through:

  • Profitable advisory growth (financial)
  • Client development, satisfaction and retention (service)
  • Employee development, retention, engagement and satisfaction (team)
  • Implementation of the company’s QA, risk management and security policies (process)
